MANY LIES HAVE BEEN CREATED BY MEN AND ULTIMATELY SATAN IS THE FATHER OF THESE LIES. ALL OF THEM LEAD PEOPLE TO HELL AND SHOULD BE CONDEMNED.
Sadly, people are mislead into believing these deceptions
This doctrine of the catholic church is not biblical. There are many scriptures that prove this is a bad doctrine but one of the best is Ezekiel 18, specifically verse 20, The person who sins will die. A son will not be punished for his father’s sins, and a father will not be punished for his son’s sins. The righteousness of the righteous person will be his own, and the wickedness of the wicked person will be his own.
Just like Infant baptism, this deception also comes from the catholic church and is not true. You get one life to decide if you will accept God's free gift of salvation or choose to reject God. No one can make that decision for you and no one can do enough good works or prayers to get you from Hell to Heaven. It is your decision and yours alone. It makes sense that your fate is up to you and you alone. If this doctrine were true then God would be leave people in Hell simply because they didn't have any friends to do enough good works for them. Our God is the God of second chances but in this life only.
This is possibly the biggest lie ever told. So many people believe that God will judge you on the basis of "did you do more good than bad". That is not the standard. A perfect God who does not sin and is perfect in every way is the standard. The first problem is you think "I'm a good person" but the truth is everyone has told a lie, stole something even if it was something like time or a pencil it's theft. There are sins everyone commit and even sins of omission, stuff you didn't do such as go to church, help someone, pray etc. You are correct to believe that God will judge you, in fact He records every sin we ever thought or did and will judge us and base how severe your punishment will be in Hell. The only escape He has provided cost Him everything but is a free gift to you and that is salvation through Jesus Christ. God knows you can never achieve His standard of goodness but He has to judge you because He is Holy. He must punish sin. Why did Jesus come to earth as a human and die on a cross for sins He never committed? Because He was paying the price for your sins. If you accept God's free gift of salvation then when you die, He will NOT judge you because He will see that Christ paid your sins when He died in your place.
Mormons trivialize the doctrine of Hell and teach that everything the bible says about Hell is a metaphor for not living in God's will.
The short answer to this is simple: No. Many Mormons casually refer to “hell” in the same way that other Christians do, as a place of punishment where sinners are sent by a wrathful God. Even The Book of Mormon mentions hell as a place of fire and pain (1 Ne 9:10 and Helaman 6:28), a place that can be avoided by obedience to God and His commandments. But this is largely a metaphorical place. We can feel we are in “hell” even in this world because we are disobedient to God and His commandments and feel the consequences of bad decisions. We can also feel that we are in “hell” in this world if we are separated from God and His abounding love for us.
There is a second “hell” that Mormons believe in, but it is also not a place that God has created for sinners. Rather, it is a place where those who die in ignorance of Christ go because they do not have the knowledge to enter what Mormons sometimes refer to as “Spirit Paradise,” the place where the righteous go after death to await their resurrection. If this sounds like a Catholic Purgatory, there are admittedly certain similarities. Mormons do temple work rather than saying prayers so that those in “Spirit Prison” can move to “Spirit Paradise” and associate with other believers. But again, Mormon theology on Spirit Prison has nothing to do with a place of fire and brimstone, except metaphorically, as spirits may feel anguish at being separated from Christ and from their loved ones who are believers.
In the past, any religion denying the existence of an eternal Hell would be called a cult. Any preacher telling this lie would be called an apostate or false teacher. Unfortunately today we have so called "main stream" religions and pastors telling this lie. Jesus the son of God and our Lord and Savior taught explicitly that Hell is not only a real, literal place, but is also a eternal place of torment.
There is a belief in Calvinism that some people are destined to Hell by God. The Bible says that God knows the future and therefore knows who will reject Him and go to Hell. That does not mean that God has pre-destined people to Hell. The gospel is available to everyone. Jesus knew Judas would betray Him but look how He tried to save him. Judas had an opportunity, a choice, he did not have to betray Jesus. Jesus warned him about the judgement coming to the man who betrayed the Son of God and gave him a choice to repent and be saved.
The doctrine of soul sleep is a lie from the pit of hell. They get this from scripture that uses the metaphor "sleep" for death. The bible and Jesus are crystal clear that hell is eternal torment. When God creates life is it for eternity and the life he created never stops existing. Yes, our body's decay and die due to the fallen state of mankind (Adam & Eve) but our spirit never ceases to exist. Paul says in 2 Cor 5:8 that when Christians die they are immediately in the presence of the Lord. The same is true for the lost except they go to Hades (temporary Hell). The reason why Hell is eternal is because when God created us He created us to be eternal beings. Only the body dies, not the spirit. Science has observed the moment of conception when an animal or human egg is fertilized with sperm there is a spark. Doctors and scientist know that when they see the spark conception was successful. That spark is God creating life, an eternal soul.
